Ronald E. Wege

Ronald Edwin Wege, age 68 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 10:30 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge, Nebraska with Rev. Russ Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Wednesday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Ron’s grandchildren, Julia Casey, Demi Schutte, Calvin Casey, Nolan Casey, Karissa Schutte, Anna Casey, Jozie Schutte, Katie Schutte, Mollie Schutte and Kolby Casey.

Ron was born on February 4, 1951 in Wichita, KS to Edwin Argle and Neva Lucille (O’Dell) Wege. He was their only child. Ron grew up in Wichita and moved with his family to McPherson, KS where he graduated from McPherson High School in 1969. He lived in Hutchinson, KS where he worked as a Service Manager in a large dealership. He also worked at the Hutchinson Hospital as a security guard and maintenance. Ron married Claudet (Dirks) Ebmeier on August 2, 1983 in Hutchinson. They moved to Coleridge in 1993 where he worked for D & K Trailers in Coleridge and then retiring from Prince Hydraulics in Hartington. Ron was a devoted community member, volunteering for many years as a firefighter and helping at the Park View Haven Nursing Home. One of his favorite passions was being Santa’s helper for 25 years. In Ron’s spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and many, many friends. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. There was not a single person, who upon meeting Ron, didn’t see his big heart. He was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Ron is survived by his wife, Claudet Wege of Coleridge, 2 daughters, Dawn and Jim Casey of Laurel, Nebraska, Wendi and Steve Schutte of Dixon, Nebraska and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Mike and Phyllis Dirks and a brother-in-law, Rex Lage.

    Claudet and family: We are so saddened to hear about Ron. He was such a joy and always had a smile for everyone. I know he will be missed by the whole community, I know he was such a part of everyone’s lives.     Claudet and family: The few times I met Ron, he treated me so nice. He will definitely be missed, especially at Christmas time. Hugs and prayers to all of you from Rodney and myself.

    Ron lived next door on 23rd in Hutchinson. I remember him having great conversations with my husband. I still live there.
