Larry Arnim was born October 19th, 1946, in Dixon County, NE to Arnim E. and Lila Mae (Sherman) Stark. He grew up on his parents’ farm and after graduating from Laurel High School he was trained as an auto mechanic in Omaha. He supported his family through employment in the repair shops of several car dealerships, and later through long and faithful service at MidAmerican Energy in Sioux City, IA, where he worked until his retirement. His children will remember their father as a man who worked hard to provide for his family, both on the job and during his free time. After his retirement, Larry moved back to Laurel, where he provided invaluable assistance to his parents during their final years. His sense of duty was admirable. He enjoyed spending his time gardening, cooking, traveling, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
